Looking back over sixteen years a few shining moments are frozen in memory. This past year has seen some of the very best. Come fly with us at dawn over west Texas...over a glacier in New Zealand's Alps...in the mist above a haunted Battle of Britain hillside. GHOSTS has become an international aviation tradition. Our 1996 edition continues our global pursuit of the best of the few remaining aircraft of the Second World War. Fly with the CAF's legendary "Bearcat", the disk of its huge propeller reflecting a warm desert sunrise...Form tight on the wing of a "Mustang" over rugged New Zealand mountains...Bank left over an island with one of the two remaining Mitsubishi "Zeros". ENDANGERED SPECIES...A P-40 "Kittyhawk" over a glacial river and a Hawker "Hurricane" low over hedgerows in East Anglia...A B-25 "Mitchell" thundering out of the clouds and heading straight for us...The only remaining Bristol "Blenheim", its props in graceful sync over a field of grain near Duxford. TERRIBLE BEAUTY...A storm boiling behind the only true Messerschmitt Bf-109 flying with a Daimler-Benz engine...Lone Star's "Thunderbird" B-17G...A "Wildcat" painted on green water...A Piper L-4 "Grasshopper" in a tight turn...A P-38 white "Lighting" ducks through Texas clouds, and finally a Hawker "Fury" casts a fast, low shadow...a very low shadow! All of this...All in flight...the finest color printing that we have ever seen... GHOSTS-1996 is, indeed, The Ultimate Aviation Calendar! ***
